bitwerk software

The bitwerk software turns a Linux server and a few small players into a music system for every room. You keep the music library as files on your own drives; bitwerk sorts it, plays it bit-perfect and lets everyone in the building control it.

Server

Holds the library, runs the rooms and the web UI. Runs on a NAS, a mini PC or a server with Docker, as native Debian packages, or on the bitwerk Base.

Players

A Raspberry Pi with a DAC HAT or USB DAC per room, set up from a ready-made image. Optional touch display. The bitwerk Streamer runs the same player.

Web UI

Now playing, library, search, playlists, radio, rooms and settings on any phone, tablet or computer. Installs as an app.

Touch display

A native interface on the player’s display: Now playing, queue, albums, radio, search, lyrics and a far view.

Studio tools

Monitor controller, A/B with loudness matching, room correction, Stream Deck and OSC faders.

Integrations

Spotify, internet radio, UPnP control apps, Home Assistant, webhooks and MQTT, scrobbling.

Room correction, triggers, guest song requests, AI texts, UPnP, the assistant connector, online lookups and user accounts are plugins. An admin turns each on or off in the web UI; what is off shows no buttons and sends nothing. The plugins.
