The bitwerk software runs every day on a test server that serves the library, the web UI, the rooms and the players. The rack parts are on hand, and the system moves into them next. The final hardware may still change.

Highlights

• Your drives, your library: slide your own hard disks into the hot-swap bays. Each new drive is detected and becomes part of the library; nothing needs a RAID.
• Quiet in the rack: large, slow fans instead of the whine of a 1U server, short enough for typical studio racks.
• Status at a glance: a small display shows the address and the health of the system, and a light per bay finds the right drive.
• Drive health in the web UI: warnings before a disk fails, and safe removal with one click.
• No audio inside: playback stays on the players and streamers in the rooms, so the Base can live in a rack room.

The software keeps running on any NAS, mini PC or server you already own. The Base is for those who want it made by bitwerk.
