bitwerk Cat-Snake

Concept

bitwerk Cat-Snake

Four analog lines over one thin, robust Cat cable instead of a heavy multicore.

Stage to front of house, the recording room to the control room, and fixed installations that reuse Cat runs in the building on dedicated, labelled outlets.

  • Four channels per cable: balanced microphone or line signals over one shielded Cat cable with locking connectors.
  • Passive: no power, no latency, nothing to configure. With a shielded cable, 48 V phantom power passes to the microphones.
  • Stage and console versions: female XLR for the stage, male XLR for the console, with a ground-lift switch.
  • Rack version with twelve channels in one rack unit.
  • Clearly marked: colour-coded boots and cables, printed as analog audio, so nobody plugs a snake into a network switch. It is not a network device and never goes into one.

Matching Cat cables in any length and colour come from the cable builder.
